In this audio recording, CA Brooks and Bruce Rawles talk about how we’re spiritual beings having a human experience – in the face of the barrage of propaganda that the world feeds back to us from our ego projections, masking our true identity. As self-wounded healers, we have opportunities at every turn to look at the contents of our mind and how our reflected decisions (assuming the form of the surreal dream drama we call “life”) provide us a perfect classroom for gently examining how our tenacious insistence on differences, specialness and victimhood grievances. As we release these imprisoning mental wounds, we find the unchanging peace we mistakingly thought we irrevocably abandoned.
Two of the books we referred to in the conversation (both highly recommended, particularly for seasoned Course students are “Absence from Felicity: The Story of Helen Schucman and Her Scribing of A Course in Miracles” and “The Journey Home: The Obstacles to Peace in A Course in Miracles” both by Dr. Kenneth Wapnick.
We referred to the many wonderful resources available to ACIM students, such as Miracle Distribution Center’s ACIM lookup feature as well as the two primary sister organizations for A Course in Miracles, the Foundation for Inner Peace (FIP) and the Foundation for A Course In Miracles (FACIM). We also talked about ACIM‘s Workbook Lesson 191: I am the holy Son of God Himself. CA quoted from the Introduction to Chapter 21:
“Projection makes perception. The world you see is what you gave it, nothing more than that. But though it is no more than that, it is not less. Therefore, to you it is important. It is the witness to your state of mind, the outside picture of an inward condition.” – T.21.in.1:1-3
… and Bruce shared a nearby quote from the early part of the same chapter, the concluding sentence from the first paragraph of “The Forgotten Song”:
“Your cues for inference are wrong, and so you stumble and fall down upon the stones you did not recognize, but fail to be aware you can go through the doors you thought were closed, but which stand open before unseeing eyes, waiting to welcome you.” – T.21.I.1:5
Could it be that we’ve listened to ego’s propaganda because we secretly are afraid of the profound – and very unboring! – lovingkindness that our dismal, divisive dreams appear to conceal and obfuscate?
This latest audio conversation is another example of CA’s excellent regular ACIM internet radio program on 12Radio devoted to the spirituality of A Course in Miracles.
