Jackie Lora Jones and Bruce Rawles converse on the topic of “Crucifixion or Resurrection?” in their ongoing dialogue about A Course In Miracles (ACIM) in this audio on BlogTalkRadio.
The Course reminds us that crucifixion is merely deciding to believe in – and identify with – the thought system of separation … and resurrection is merely deciding to trust in – and identify with – the thought system of shared interests which results in awareness of the eternal innocence of all – not just some special ones. Eventually, we all will realize the wisdom of a peaceful recognition that suffering is needless and learn to let go of our stories of victimhood, martyrdom and differences. This one-downsmanship “race to the bottom” is wonderfully parodied in this classic “Four Yorkshirement (Monty Python) skit. It’s funny because to one degree or another we all want to make everyone else more guilty than ourselves so that we’re “relatively innocent” instead of the truly magnanimous and accurate assessment that everyone is equally and completely innocent in Truth eternally, although not necessarily (of course) on the level of form in the world.
Here are some helpful definitions from the glossary of the Foundation for A Course In Miracles (FACIM):
Crucifixion: a symbol of the ego’s attack on God and therefore on His Son, witnessing to the ” reality” of suffering, sacrifice, victimization, and death which the world seems to manifest; also refers to the killing of Jesus, an extreme example that taught that our true Identity of love can never be destroyed, for death has no power over life.
Resurrection: the awakening from the dream of death; the total change in mind that transcends the ego and its perceptions of the world, the body, and death, allowing us to identify completely with our true Self; also refers to the resurrection of Jesus.
Jackie is the host of the helpful “The 24th Hour – Positive News Magazine“, video blog YouTube Channel series of the same name also hosts a radio show “True Forgiveness Teachings” series on BlogTalkRadio on various Tuesdays.
Here is Jackie’s announcement about the conversation:
Jackie and Bruce discuss how the crucifixion was not a form of punishment, but a teaching lesson from Jesus to show us that our identity is not the body. Resurrection is the awakening from the dream of death.
Your resurrection is your reawakening. I am the model for rebirth, but rebirth itself is merely the dawning on your mind of what is already in it. God placed it there Himself, and so it is true forever. I believed in it, and therefore accepted it as true for me. Help me to teach it to our brothers in the name of the Kingdom of God, but first believe that it is true for you, or you will teach amiss. My brothers slept during the so-called “agony in the garden,” but I could not be angry with them because I knew I could not be abandoned. T-6.1.7:1-6
Do you want suffering or peace? Thorns or lilies? Grievances or miracles?

As always, these readings provide a platform to discuss a variety of helpful ideas and practices from the non-dual metaphysics of A Course in Miracles. Jackie has conducted insightful video interviews with Gary Renard and numerous others. She and her sister, Cindy Lora-Renard, facilitate classes on ACIM in addition to equally highly-regarded workshops on “The Course.” Jackie’s first book, All Peace, No Pieces is a valuable addition to any Course student’s library, regardless of their level of familiarity with the Course’s ideas, with some particularly fun and insightful metaphors from the Wizard of Oz movie.
