“The Healing Power of Kindness” is the topic that Jackie Lora Jones and Bruce Rawles explore in their ongoing dialogue about A Course In Miracles (ACIM) in this audio on BlogTalkRadio.
When we realize that the world is a projection of our split mind and hasn’t left its source there, we can afford to not take our “dream figure” experiences quite so seriously, and then kindness becomes more and more justified because we’re not being asked to sacrifice, but only to contribute to our eternally shared, infinitely inclusive welfare, enjoyed by all. We talk about watching our minds project the belief in separation (which sometimes manifests in what we call physical illness.) When we minimize taking our inner critic’s condemning blather seriously, we are in a better position to be kind to ourselves and everyone else. Kindness is only truly effective when we realize that our real identity is the same as everyone else, and that shared identity.
As actor Bill Murray says in both the Meatballs and Razor’s Edge movies, “It just doesn’t matter.” In the former film, he encourages a youth sports team to not be obsessed with winning or losing, and in the latter movie applies that to what appears to be his own disheartening major life outcomes. When we remember that our egoic insistence on having the world perform to our impossible specifications – and the frequent resulting tantrums, whether expressed outwardly or not – is a setup for disappointment, and not take those self-defeating demands quite so seriously, we’re then in a much better position to honestly assess each specific situation in our lives as having less and less impact on our (truly unassailable) peace. Then we can watch (with our Inner Kindness Teacher) what seems to happen … or not … with genuine compassion and respond gently but firmly to our incessant ego complaints. My ephemeral “big deals” just don’t matter to our eternal being, at home in Perfect Oneness, dreaming of exile. Our recognition and release of ego dysfunctional thinking allow the replacement with the kindness we wanted all along.
Jackie is the host of the helpful “The 24th Hour – Positive News Magazine“, video blog YouTube Channel series of the same name also hosts a radio show “True Forgiveness Teachings” series on BlogTalkRadio on various Tuesdays.
Here is Jackie’s announcement about the conversation:
Welcome friends!
We teach kindness by first learning Jesus’ lessons of forgiveness. That is what we extend out to everyone in our daily lives. Inner peace is yours! Happiness and joy are experienced when the mind is healed of unconscious guilt and fear. Releasing judgment of ourselves and others removes the blocks to the awareness of Love. Join Jackie and Bruce as they discuss the difference between the ego’s “kindness -to-destroy” vs. the Holy Spirit’s “kindness to heal.”

As always, these readings provide a platform to discuss a variety of helpful ideas and practices from the non-dual metaphysics of A Course in Miracles. Jackie has conducted insightful video interviews with Gary Renard and numerous others. She and her sister, Cindy Lora-Renard, facilitate classes on ACIM in addition to equally highly-regarded workshops on “The Course.” Jackie’s first book, All Peace, No Pieces is a valuable addition to any Course student’s library, regardless of their level of familiarity with the Course’s ideas, with some particularly fun and insightful metaphors from the Wizard of Oz movie.
