This video recording and the graphics and details that follow are from the ongoing series of excellent classes provided by Lyn Corona and Tim Wise in their School For A Course In Miracles – SFACIM. In this session, we explore variations on the profoundly insightful metaphysical chart developed and employed by Kenneth Wapnick and the staff at the Foundation for A Course In Miracles (FACIM). Tim’s pertinent description of the session was “A Fresh Look and Review of The Chart… A pictorial representation of how we got here, and more importantly, how we get back…”
Plato might have advised that “…neither sign nor symbol should be confused with source, for they must stand for something other than themselves. ³Their meaning cannot lie in them but must be sought in what they represent. ⁴And they may thus mean everything or nothing, according to the truth or falsity of the idea which they reflect.” (ACIM, T-19.IV-C.11:2-4) … and “Nothing so blinding as perception of form. ⁸For sight of form means understanding has been obscured. (ACIM, T-22.III.6:7-8). The Course meets us where we’re at since in this world all we have is dualistic language and symbols (including graphics) with which to attempt to convey non-dualistic ideas. ACIM, like any reflection of the Truth that inspires us, can merely point to the ineffable Oneness which is our eternally unchangeable identity, but the experience transcends anything we might try to describe in words:
“A universal theology is impossible, but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary. ⁶It is this experience toward which the course is directed. ⁷Here alone consistency becomes possible because here alone uncertainty ends.” (ACIM, C-in.2:5-7)
