This video recording and the details that follow are from the ongoing series of excellent classes provided by Lyn Corona and Tim Wise in their School For A Course In Miracles – SFACIM. In this session, we read and reviewed the sections from the Text of A Course In Miracles: The Undivided Will of the Sonship (ACIM, T-8.V) starting on page 146 in recent English Editions of the Course.
We started this conversation with an opening meditation, consisting of this quote from ACIM’s workbook:
“Father, our Name is Yours. ²In It we are united with all living things, and You Who are their one Creator. ³What we made and call by many different names is but a shadow we have tried to cast across Your Own reality. ⁴And we are glad and thankful we were wrong. ⁵All our mistakes we give to You, that we may be absolved from all effects our errors seemed to have. ⁶And we accept the truth You give, in place of every one of them. ⁷Your Name is our salvation and escape from what we made. ⁸Your Name unites us in the oneness which is our inheritance and peace. ⁹Amen.” (ACIM, W-184.15:1-9)
ACIM reminds us that we all have One True Identity (Identification) which is All-Inclusive, undifferentiated, Complete, Innocent, Sinless, and Whole: Life = Love = Strength = Purity = Beauty = Perfection = Eternal Gratitude.
Yet in this bizarre nightmarish dream of a world, we all believe we have inhabited separate identities (plural) that are constantly at war – whether overt or covert – and peace seems impossible. Our egos treasure and defend our names, faces, fingerprints, stories, wounds, membership cards, driver’s licenses, wallets, purses, and phones, and go from suspiciousness to viciousness when these differentiators that make us seem unique and special are threatened. How exhausting, feudal, and futile this daunting task to preserve our personal identity theft, carved out of unity, stolen from our Creator!
Because we believe we’ve separated (dissociated) from each other and our Creator, we need help to remember that this perception is erroneous; we need to want to be happily wrong about our interpretations of everything. If we don’t want to be wrong yet, we can look forward to when we DO want to be wrong.
Here is the first paragraph of this section The Undivided Will of the Sonship (ACIM, T-8.V) which points out the vital importance of paying attention to which identification (identity) we have chosen in any moment: either complete impartial, sane inclusion, or partial, insane exclusion:
“Can you be separated from your identification and be at peace? ²Dissociation is not a solution; it is a delusion. ³The delusional believe that truth will assail them, and they do not recognize it because they prefer the delusion. ⁴Judging truth as something they do not want, they perceive their illusions which block knowledge. ⁵Help them by offering them your unified mind on their behalf, as I am offering you mine on behalf of yours. ⁶Alone we can do nothing, but together our minds fuse into something whose power is far beyond the power of its separate parts. ⁷By not being separate, the Mind of God is established in ours and as ours. ⁸This Mind is invincible because it is undivided.” (ACIM, T-8.V.1:1-8)
We explore the idea that choosing our real identity entails choosing the Undivided Will of our Creator and the Sonship in which we are all inseparably joined.

ACIM suggests that our True ID is pure non-duality; perfect Oneness; undifferentiated Unity. We approach that awareness by remembering (with Holy Spirit’s help) that we’re ALL the SAME! A vital part of our forgiveness classroom is to look past differences in each other’s bodies, behaviors, and personalities and see that we all truly just want a peaceful mind and a happy heart.
“No one can escape from illusions unless he looks at them, for not looking is the way they are protected. ²There is no need to shrink from illusions, for they cannot be dangerous. ³We are ready to look more closely at the ego’s thought system because together we have the lamp that will dispel it, and since you realize you do not want it, you must be ready. ⁴Let us be very calm in doing this, for we are merely looking honestly for truth.” (ACIM, T-11.V.1:1-4)

Holy Spirit is the infinite resource of calmness, strength, and true motivation for completing this Course; and everyone passes with flying colors! Holy Spirit wants to share the confidence it has in limitless supply – since happily, the outcome is a “done deal’ … we’ve all already graduated (with all-inclusive honors for everyone) from the Course but still seem to be dreaming of exile. Since Holy Spirit has complete confidence in our true nature, our true Will, our true Identification, there is – as the Beatles pointed out – nothing to get hung about.

We closed the session with this inspiring quote from the text:
“You who identify with your ego cannot believe God loves you. ²You do not love what you made, and what you made does not love you. ³Being made out of the denial of the Father, the ego has no allegiance to its maker. ⁴You cannot conceive of the real relationship that exists between God and His creations because of your hatred for the self you made. ⁵You project onto the ego the decision to separate, and this conflicts with the love you feel for the ego because you made it. ⁶No love in this world is without this ambivalence, and since no ego has experienced love without ambivalence the concept is beyond its understanding. ⁷Love will enter immediately into any mind that truly wants it, but it must want it truly. ⁸This means that it wants it without ambivalence, and this kind of wanting is wholly without the ego’s ‘drive to get.’ ” (ACIM, T-4.III.4:1-8)
