In this timely video conversation about A Course In Miracles, Susan Dugan and Bruce Rawles look at ACIM Workbook Lesson 240, “In my defenselessness my safety lies,” and Lesson 244 “I am in danger nowhere in the world” along with the closely related third of the fourteen “What is” essays in part II of the workbook “What Is the World?”
As always, this pure non-dual metaphysical curriculum reminds us that it’s directed always and only to the decision-making faculty in the mind, and not to the personal selves we believe ourselves to be. We’re not asked to deny our physical experience, but only to question the misinterpretations that our personal (ego) selves would use against us to further fear instead of promoting peace. We can remember that even while we’re practicing social distancing, using hand sanitizer and doing all we can to prevent the current pandemic virus on the level of form, we can do so from a place of inner calm, knowing our True Identity has never been threatened in any way. We merely need to ask our Inner Kindness Teacher (a.k.a Holy Spirit) to instruct us how to vaporize the ego virus of victimhood, use the “mind sanitizer” of forgiveness, and remember that our real being – Spirit – has never been apart from each or our Creator. The ego insanity virus, not unlike biological viruses, has no “life” of its own; it relies on another host (in this case our decision making mind) to keep it going. We can choose to deny the ego’s denial of truth by practicing shared interests that transcend any apparent social distance, regardless of seeming magnitude. We’re all on the same journey without distance to the home we never left, except in dreams.

It does not matter what the form in which it may appear. It witnesses but to your own illusions of yourself. Let us not be deceived today. We are the Sons of God. There is no fear in us, for we are each a part of Love Itself.” – W-pII.240.1
“Your Son is safe wherever he may be, for You are there with him. He need but call upon Your Name, and he will recollect his safety and Your Love, for they are one. How can he fear or doubt or fail to know he cannot suffer, be endangered, or experience unhappiness, when he belongs to You, beloved and loving, in the safety of Your Fatherly embrace?” – W-pII.244.1
“The world is false perception. It is born of error, and it has not left its source. It will remain no longer than the thought that gave it birth is cherished. When the thought of separation has been changed to one of true forgiveness, will the world be seen in quite another light; and one which leads to truth, where all the world must disappear and all its errors vanish. Now its source has gone, and its effects are gone as well.
The world was made as an attack on God. It symbolizes fear. And what is fear except love’s absence? Thus the world was meant to be a place where God could enter not, and where His Son could be apart from Him. Here was perception born, for knowledge could not cause such insane thoughts. But eyes deceive, and ears hear falsely. Now mistakes become quite possible, for certainty has gone.” – W-pII.3.1-2
